Scioto Valley Women's Rugby Football Club was established in 2001 in Columbus, Ohio. We play competitive, hard-hitting rugby and have competitive, hard-hitting fun afterward. We play in the Midwest Rugby Union in Division II.
We have fall and spring seasons. During our season, we practice every Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm and have games every Saturday. Our home pitch is at Rhodes Park near downtown Columbus. We play teams from across the midwest and occasionally the nation. We won our division in 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2012, and we were national runners-up in 2007.
To better represent our home city (and so everyone knows where we are from), in the fall of 2017 the club voted to change its name from Scioto Valley WRFC to Columbus Women's Rugby Club (CWRC). And while we will never forget our history and where we come from (thanks alum!), we are excited about the name change and the future of the club!
We welcome women of all ages and all experience levels.
We recommend grabbing some soccer cleats and a mouth guard to start.
We love to teach people how to play rugby.
Scioto is pronounced "sigh-OH-tah." Don't ask us why.
